The Thomanerchor Leipzig – with 800 of history!
Come and experience a concert with the Thomanerchor Leipzig – the boy’s choir, founded in 1212 and a leading cultural institution in Leipzig ever since. Of all its great directors throughout the ages, one has to mention Johann Sebastian Bach, who directed the choir for 27 years, premiering so many of his cantatas, motets and passions. The Thomanerchor Leipzig is still regarded as a leading ensemble in its field, combining a busy schedule of concerts and services in Leipzig with international tours.
We invite you to take this rare opportunity to hear The Thomanerchor Leipzig in the beautiful setting of the Stockholm Cathedral. The choir sings under the direction of Tomas Cantor Prof. Gotthold Schwarz and is accompanied by Thomas Organist Prof. Ullrich Böhme.
