Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh
When the stargazers, who are also commonly referred to as kings or wise men, march into Storkyrkan (the Great Church) together with the donkey, the ox, and the lamb, Anglican church music takes center stage. The manger is filled with straw, and the little baby Jesus looks around in wonder. Carols and folk songs are mixed with the occasional hymn. Sing along! Welcome to Nils Lindberg's Requiem at Storkyrkan: "Undoubtedly one of the finest compositions by Nils Lindberg. In a brilliant manner, he has successfully merged jazz, European classical music, and Swedish folk music into a unique musical language." Participants: S:t Jacobs Vocal Ensemble, Lena Willemark soprano, Anna Jalkéus soprano, Helgi Reynisson baritone, Carefree Big Band conducted by Dan Tillberg, and Mikael Wedar as the conductor.
