SUMMARY:The culture night
DESCRIPTION:During the Stockholm Culture Night\, the doors of Storkyrkan open to a world of sound. Come and experience the city’s cathedral filled with music\, light\, and presence. Let the tones carry you through history – in the very heart of the Old Town. \nS:t Jacob’s Chamber Choir will present two concerts during the evening under the direction of 25-year-old German guest conductor Maria Ravvina\, winner of the international Fosco Corti Choral Conducting Competition in Turin in October 2024. S:t Jacob’s Chamber Choir took part in the competition as the final-round choir\, and the first prize consisted of conducting a concert with the choir in Stockholm. Maria Ravvina was also awarded a special prize as the youngest finalist in the competition. \nMaria Ravvina is currently pursuing a master’s degree in choral conducting at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts. She is Artistic Director of the Hannover-based vocal ensemble Vox Aeterna\, which won several prizes at the major German choral festival Deutsches Chorfest 2025\, where around 14\,000 singers from more than 400 choirs gathered.
