The choirs join forces in the monumental work <em>Hear My Prayer, O Lord<\/em>, where Sandstr\u00f6m unfolds Purcell\u2019s music into vast, shimmering fields of sound.<\/p>\n<p>Akademisk Kor \u00c5rhus, founded in 1985 and conducted by Jonas Rasmussen, is considered one of Denmark\u2019s leading amateur choirs. It consists of young singers connected to the musical life of Aarhus. With international tours and several first prizes from prestigious competitions, the choir has become a strong voice in European choral culture. It is especially dedicated to preserving and renewing the Danish choral tradition through commissioned works and recordings.<\/p>\n<p>Schola Cantorum, founded in 1964 by composer Knut Nystedt, is regarded today as one of Norway\u2019s foremost chamber choirs. Affiliated with the University of Oslo, the ensemble is made up of young singers from the country\u2019s leading music academies.
