Arvo Pärt Passio
13 April @ 16:00 - 17:10
100SEK – 290SEK
With its deeply meditative appeal, Arvo Pärt’s Passio is one of the Estonian composer’s most touching works and an expression of his unique musical language, a kind of musical minimalism that has made his music beloved around the world. The work, composed in 1982, is a passion story according to the evangelist John, where Pärt, with restrained simplicity and spiritual intensity, conveys the story of Jesus’ suffering and death. The concentrated approach is emphasized by a sparse ensemble with soloists, choir, organ, and a small instrumental ensemble.
In 2025, Arvo Pärt turns 90, a milestone that offers an opportunity to reflect on his significant contributions to contemporary music and his role as one of the most influential composers of our time, whose music transcends cultural and religious boundaries, touching listeners around the world.
