Midi à minuit
23 February @ 16:00 - 17:00
Free
From the first light of dawn to the stillness of the night, today’s concert takes us on a journey through the changes of the day under the title Midi à minuit.
Award-winning mezzo-soprano Ebba Lejonclou joins court organist Johannes Skoog in a program that reflects the contrasts of day and night in tone and text. With works by Henry Purcell, Max Reger, Gabriel Fauré, and Louis Vierne, the audience is invited into a world of timeless beauty and poetic reflection.
The highlight is Louis Vierne’s Les Angélus, a triptych for voice and organ, where shifting moods evoke the sound of church bells and the transitions of the day. The piece is characterized by a depth that brings to mind the eternal rhythm of life and time. A meeting between the mezzo-soprano’s lyrical expression and the organ’s powerful palette – where every note is a tribute to the poetry of the day and life’s quiet miracle.
