Music is My Name

A Tribute Concert to Anna Cederberg-Orreteg

Throughout her professional life, Anna Cederberg-Orreteg has worked as a pianist, singer, choir conductor, and music teacher at the Adolf Fredrik Music Classes in Farsta. She is an advocate for young people’s right to sing, and holds a prominent place in Swedish music life as an award-winning composer of vocal music for children and youth. Having recently retired, she vill now be celebrated by students and colleagues from Adolf Fredrik, with a tribute concert dedicated to her compositions.

The concert is named after her three-part choir piece “Music is my name.” Presenting pieces by Anna Cederberg-Orreteg to the music classes is highly appreciated. They are not always easy to sing, but students enjoy the harmonies, rhythms, and nuances. I myself have performed Anna’s music for many years, both as a soloist and a choral singer, and one of my favorites is indeed “Music is my name,” says Anna Karin Schäfer, singer and music teacher at Adolf Fredrik, and one of the conductors of the concert.
