Sing to the Lord
22 October, 2023 @ 16:00 - 17:00
FreeHägersten A Cappella is a young award-winning chamber choir with a wide-ranging repertoire. Based at the Church of the Revelation in Hägersten, they have taken on major choral works, such as Bach’s St. Matthew Passion and Monteverdi’s Vespers, butthey have also toured and, among other things, won a prestigious choir competitionin Jurmala, Latvia.
Today’s concert includes music that is very dear to the choir’s heart – contemporary a cappella music. Matthew Peterson’s piece “Sing to the Lord,” Agneta Sköld’s “Let Your Light Come,” and Susanna Lindmark’s “Tschitta saltunza” (which means “The Butterfly’s Dance” in Romansh) are all just a few years old.
The choir’s conductor, Kerstin Börjesson, has served for a long time as Music Director of the Church of the Revelation (Uppenbarelsekyrkan), with a special focus onchildren’s and youth choirs as well as highly advanced adult choirs.
She has received several awards for her outstanding work and is a member of the Royal Academy of Music.
