A night in Pentecostal season

A resonant panorama of Nordic and international choral lyricism unfolds as InCantus presents music that moves between intimacy, rhythmic vitality, and spiritual wonder. Karl Jenkins’ distinctive style blends classical choral grandeur with ethnic colour in Exsultate, jubilate and Ave Maria from Adiemus – Songs of Sanctuary. Contemporary Swedish voices meet international ones in works such as Stefan Klaverdal’s contemplative Sub tuum praesidium and the hymn The Tree of Life, as well as Agneta Sköld’s jubilant Let Your Light Come, Ivo Antognini’s warm Come to Me, and Arvo Pärt’s meditative Tribute to Caesar.

Of particular interest is the world premiere of Hans Hartman’s Sanctus – Agnus Dei from Missa Ferialis, where a modern sound world meets liturgical tradition. Swedish choral classicism also finds its place through Sven-Eric Johanson’s poetic Psaltare och lyra and Sven-Erik Bäck’s epic work Se, vi gå upp till Jerusalem.

Camerata InCantus, under the direction of Håkan Olsson Reising, has over the past decade developed into a choir with a distinctive artistic identity. With around thirty accomplished singers, the ensemble combines musical precision with expressive vitality, offering this evening a tonal journey through time, faith, and sound.
