Agneta Sköld in Focus
1 February @ 16:00 - 17:00
Free
Agneta Sköld is a composer and former cathedral organist in Västerås, as well as a long-time choral singer in Eric Ericsson’s Chamber Choir and in the Radio Choir. Music has been a constant throughout Agneta Sköld’s life, and she has composed up to 90 of her own works – all of them vocal music.
When Agneta Sköld moved to Västerås, she took over the choir – the Mariakören – where she herself had been trained as a young chorister.
In addition to Mariakören, Agneta also led the cathedral’s children, youth, and adult choirs, and the choirs had the opportunity to perform much of the music she composed herself. New commissions for music have continued to come after her years in Västerås Cathedral, and she still dedicates much of her time to the creation of new music.
The 2025 Jubilate is organised by the Diocese of Stockholm, the Royal College of Music, the Stockholm Church Choir Association, the Stockholm Church Musicians’ Association (KMR), the Stockholm Cathedral Parish, and Sensus.
