Sing a new song to the Lord!

29 April @ 19:00 - 20:15
Free

The Chamber Choir of the Franz Liszt University of Music in Weimar embarks on a long-awaited tour of Sweden, with an exclusive performance at Storkyrkan. The audience is invited to an enthralling concert featuring a cappella works from the German Romantic and Baroque periods, alongside contemporary compositions by Swedish and Finnish composers of the 21st century. In addition, the school’s instrumental duo will perform an intimate piece for clarinet and cello.

Founded in 1926, the choir is one of the most distinguished ensembles of the Franz Liszt University of Music. Its members come from various musical disciplines and universities in the region, creating a unique blend of experience and youthful energy. Over the decades, conductors such as Professor Gert Frischmuth and the current director, Jürgen Puschbeck—himself both professor and former student—have upheld the choir’s exceptional artistic standard.

With an impressive record of international prizes, recordings, and tours across the globe—from Israel and the United States to Japan and Brazil—this is a concert showcasing a choir of true world-class calibre. Don’t miss the chance to experience this superb ensemble in exquisite harmony, where tradition and modern expression unite in an unforgettable musical experience.
