Together with Maria Johansson-Josephsson, Johanna Levin and students from the School of Music in Örebro, Mattias Wager and Gary Graden invite you to a festive final concert after a week with improvisation in focus. Here, the audience will experience music created in the moment – where the boundaries between genres, traditions, and expressions dissolve, and anything can happen.

Listening to Olivier Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time in Storkyrkan on Holocaust Memorial Day is an experience marked by both historical memory and spiritual presence. On this memorial day, it resonates as a musical meditation on both the wounds of history and the light that, against all odds, continues to shine through the darkness.

"Boys’ Choir Under the Vaults” is the name of the annual vocal event that brings together the boys’ and men’s choirs from the nation’s cathedrals. This year’s program features works by Bernstein, Howells, Britten, and Bach.

This year’s evensong is part of the Diocese of Stockholm’s church music festival Jubilate, which this year focuses on Norwegian music.

This year’s church music festival in the Diocese of Stockholm — Jubilate — highlights contemporary Norwegian church music by some of the country’s most significant composers — Petra Bjørkhaug, Knut Nystedt, Torbjørn Dyrud, and Kim André Arnesen — performed by the St. Matthew Chamber Choir, Adolf Fredrik Church Chamber Choir, and Gustavsberg Vocal Ensemble.

The piano part comments on and supports the emotional states and atmospheres.

Evensong is a meditative and calming evening service in which music and song create an atmosphere of stillness and reflection. In Storkyrkan this Sunday, the evensong is led by Sofia Ågren and performed by the Stockholm Music High School Chamber Choir.

The biblical concept of love and the Greek distinctions between Eros, Agape, and Philia form the starting point as S:t Jacob’s Chamber Choir performs under guest conductor Cecilia Martin-Löf.

The text of the Stabat Mater was written in the early 14th century and describes Mary’s suffering during the crucifixion of Jesus. We meet several singers from the School of Music and Opera at Mälardalen University in a programme built around this hymn. Music by Pergolesi, Boccherini, Berkeley, and others.
